Parts of Me
My toes are silly, laughing and giggly they wiggle when tickled and tend to be pink.
My legs are strong, they can carry a heavy load emotionally and physically they walk the long road.
My stomach is vulnerable, soft and smooth it's hidden underneath layers of secret shame that is all too obvious.
My breasts are proud, firm and high they are mounds of perfection jutting to be seen but confined and tortured with wires of humility.
My eyes are emotional, swirling windows into the soul they can be vibrant, lifeless, or sparkling with turmoil.
My life has been full of well meaning spirits saying "it's what's on the inside that counts".
My outsides are just as telling as the inside. What happens when no one takes the time to look at them?
I'm silly, strong, vulnerable, proud, and emotional. My body tells the story of my heart, how many have taken the time to listen to it?
